The cost of animal feed has sky-rocketed and the animal-based foods (meat, dairy, eggs) are creeping up as well.
Here in the Sequoia National Forest, we overlook California’s dairy country and see still more dairies closing. Some dairies grow much of their own feed such as in these pictures. However, as some indication of the changing market, truckers hauling hay from northern California to area dairies have been basically out of work in what would otherwise be the peak of the work season.
Times are hard. We send a little request upstairs for more relief. 🙂
